28,000 Meals Made for Stop Hunger Now

Over the past 13 years, Stop Hunger Now has distributed millions of meals to needy people in over 70 countries. Last year, the Rotary Club of the Triad and area volunteers raised $7,000 to package 28,080 meals for this program. For the 2012-2013 Rotary year, our club received its fifth District 7690 Grant to help underwrite part of the cost of the ingredients that go into each meal packet.

On February 16, 2013 our club, along with several volunteers from the community, packaged over 28,000 meals during our eighth annual 3-hour event. Thanks go to River Landing for hosting our event, and to all the volunteers who helped us: residents from River Landing, Interact Club members from Ragsdale High, Rotaract Club Members from GTCC, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater High Point.
